My research area is wireless networking and mobile computing. My research interests include 3G/4G
cellular networks, WLANs, WPANs, mobile ad hoc networks, wireless mesh networks, wireless sensor
networks, MAC, routing, TCP congestion control, radio resource management,
spectrum-agile radio access, seamless mobility,
system co-existence, wireless multimedia, energy efficiency, reliability and QoS.

Multi-channel MAC protocol for WLANs and multihop
ad hoc networks
Using directional antennas in WLANs and multihop ad
hoc networks
Designed a MAC protocol to enhance the Performance of WLANs with Multibeam Access Point.
Developed MAC protocols to fully utilize directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks, with and
without synchronization, respectively.
Studied interference-constrained maximum flow in wireless mesh networks with directional antennas.
Utilizing channel diversity in WLANs and multihop
ad hoc networks
Support real-time applications in WLANs and mobile
broadband access systems
Developed a joint transmission scheduling and rate shaping algorithm for scalable video over IEEE 802.16e.
Co-designed a rate control and call admission control scheme to provide statistical QoS guarantee for VoIP
over WLANs (VoWLAN).
Network congestion control in multihop ad hoc
networks
MAC protocol for high data-rate WLANs
